Infection control

Hygiene and cleaning routines

As always, we take our hygiene and cleaning routine very seriously. Personal hygiene is taught from the very start here until the children leave for school and everything is thoroughly cleaned at the end of the each day, however, throughout the day now we will be going the extra mile to ensure we do our upmost to prevent any spread of infection.

Environmental Hygiene

Touch points’ (areas which are touched often by big/little hands) such as, door handles, gates, handrails, switches etc, will be cleaned and sterilised as per government guidelines and recommendations.

Windows/doors will be open, where safe and appropriate to do so, to improve ventilation.

There are plenty of hand washing facilities around the building and staff will be encouraging good hygiene throughout the day.

Toy Hygiene

Toys in the nursery will be sterilise regularly.

All surfaces and objects that cannot be left to sterilise will be thoroughly cleaned with anti-bacterial sprays/wipes.

Outdoor play

As you are aware, the spread of infection is less active or transmissive outside. We already understand how important outdoor play is and we encourage it anyway, so this will be continued, and we will be engaging in outside activities at certain times throughout the day. Please dress your child appropriately with this in mind.

What will happen if your child becomes unwell at nursery?

If your child becomes unwell during their nursery session, the nursery will ring you to ask you to come and collect your child from nursery. Please see below the guidance on when your child can return to nursery.
